Who is Salma Rachid?

Salma Rachid is a famous singer from El Jadida, Morocco. Salma Rachid began her singing career as part of the band Tarab but soon left to form her group and perform under her name. She eventually released an album in 2006, titled Bouya.

Which was well-received by critics and fans alike; Bouya won the World Music Award in 2007 as the best Moroccan album of the year, despite being recorded in France with French musicians.

Early life

Salma Rachid was born in Rabat, Morocco, to an upper-middle-class family. When she was 18, her parents divorced, and Salma moved to a smaller town for high school. 

She studied Business Administration at the American University of Paris (AUP), then went back to Morocco to work as a consultant for various companies. They both decided to move there after their marriage. 

She has been living with him since 1999. They have one daughter together, named Lara Rachid. Salma is also the author of The Life Plan, which is about following one's goals and dreams no matter what obstacles are in your way.

Salma was born in Rabat, Morocco, to a Moroccan father and an Italian mother. She had a happy childhood, with lots of love from her family. 

She was the first girl in her family to get a college degree (a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature). She learned to speak Arabic, French, and Italian at a very high level. She also knows how to speak Spanish and English.

dissertation analyzes the relationship between politics and literature during the colonial era, explicitly focusing on Francophone North African authors such as Mohamed Choukri, Kateb Yacine, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Assia Djebar, Abdelkebir Khatibi or Dominique Aury. Salma completed her Ph.D. 

in 2000 and wrote many articles about Franco-Moroccan literature. In 2001 she published Une éducation marocain which discussed this topic in more detail. 

It became one of the bestsellers in France because it told new stories to most Europeans about what life is like for women growing up under Islamic traditions and customs.


Career of Salma Rachid

Salma Rachid is a Moroccan entrepreneur who has been living in the United States for over ten years. Salma is an expert on international business and economic development, with a strong focus on trade, investment, and foreign policy. 

She graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and French and a Master's degree in International Development Management. Salma founded her consulting firm in 2002, which she still runs today. 

Her company provides strategic advice to governments and private companies on economic development, global markets, trade agreements, and diplomacy. 

She was the first woman to be appointed to Morocco's National Commission for Investment (2004) by King Mohammed VI. 

She also served as Secretary General of Morocco's Global Business Forum from 2009-2012. In 2016, she was named President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Morocco. 

In 2017, Salma co-founded CANIDAE - the first vegan pet food brand exclusively made with ingredients sourced from North Africa and Central America. 

The idea came about when Salma learned about factory farming practices and their adverse effects on the environment and animal welfare. 

Salma is currently based in Washington, DC, serving as Senior Vice President at BlackRock.

Salma Rachid was born in Algeria in 1962. She is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, and director who has worked on over 25 films and documentaries. 

Her most recent projects include the film Timbuktu which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards, and Camion-Lait, which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special at the 46th Primetime Emmy Awards.

 Since 1997 she has been the CEO of the production company Films en Coeur. 

She is also the founder and president of the Association Nationale des Cinéastes Algériens (ANCA). In 2004, she became a member of Fespaco's board of directors, still serving as vice president. In 2014, Salma released her first novel, Petit Ours Brun et la Reine de Glace. 

The book was inspired by two childhood fairytales from North Africa that have rarely been told to children since the publishing rights were purchased by European companies decades ago. 

In addition to the French translation published in 2017, English, Italian and German translations are in progress. 

Rachid hopes to continue publishing more books like this one which may help increase awareness about climate change issues among younger generations.


Awards and nominations of Salma Rachid

 She also holds the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit. In 2010, she received the French National Order from President Nicolas Sarkozy at a ceremony in Paris. 

The Ministry awarded Salma Rachid Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight in the order of arts and letters) for Culture and Communication on 12 September 2008. She has been decorated with the National Order of Merit by decree dated 7 November 2006. 

On 1 January 2009.[ ] On 16 December 2012, Rachid joined the Académie française (French Academy).

The French government named her Minister Delegate for Francophonie in June 2014. She will be replacing Alain Juppé, who stepped down from this position after he failed to win the presidential election. On 27 July 2013, Rachid became a member of the Senate representing Hauts-de-Seine.
